Hello to all and welcome to my site! This site is devoted to the love of science!
I have heard the call to teacher since being inspired by my 6th grade teacher Diana Knox. If I am half the teacher she is then I will be a great success!
I am inspired by the great philosophies and strategies of John Dewey, Maria Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf. I believe that children should be allowed to play, create, explore, and learn in a project based environment.
I love nature and the life science studies are my favorite! I have been to game preserves, wildlife observation areas, and habitats rich in wildlife throughout Georgia, Texas, Kansas, and Oregon. What an amazing and diverse adventure it has been. I have been awakened by the yips of coyote pups in Terlingua Texas, boated next to dolphins and manatees in Georgia, and come face to face with a brown bear and her two cubs in Oregon. These experiences have made a lasting impression on me and I will make wildlife appreciation, exploration, and preservation a vital part of my classroom experience.
I hope you find something helpful, enjoyable, and useful on this site.
